Every time I’m installing the drivers, I still get “Rane hardware disconnected” inside Serato. Does it work on your Windows 10 machine and do you use scratch live sl1 power cable?

After a reboot, the laptop then does see the USB mini-hub, and external soundcard is functioning perfectly fine, but then Serato al1 longer sees the SL1 box – the traditional trick of scratch live sl1 and replugging the SL1’s USB makes no difference, although the machine beeps in recogniton of a “functioning” peripheral, and all the drivers indicate it should be working, whilst the software still states “Rane Hardware Disconnected” Please help me with this issue – i had only upgraded the laptop to be able to cope with the power needed to run Serato 2.

Lenovo Ideapad Y580 39.6 cm (15.6 inch) Notebook with Intel Core i7 3630QM (released September 2012) with Windows 8.
SSL 2.5 is running without any problem.
The only one problem I've noticed is Windows 8 with the own USB 3.0 driver with external USB 3.0 drives which support the new UASP extension (in my case Lacie 4 TB Quadro - but not the 3 TB!).
Multiple times the transfer speed failed down to 5 MB/s!
At first I've thought Serato has problems with Windows 8 and/or connected to USB3.0/2.0 because the audio had a drop out - which only happend because Serato didn't get the audio data from the harddisc (WAV file)!
The 4 TB hard disc was only my backup hard disc (using on my Windows 7 on my PC) - but with my LaCie 3 TB there is NO problem (but does not support UASP) and all works fine.
Note: UASP is normally NOT listed as feature in the hard disc description. It's added 'silently'. Maybe you try Google before.
I will try the 4 TB hard disc again today with Windows 8. Maybe Windows 8.1 fixes the problem but I have not installed until yet because I don't know if Serato will run on 8.1 (as for 8.)
For a new laptop it is only important that you buy a newer Intel Core i7 3630QM - released September 2012 (see e.g. wikipedia.org - there is a table when released) which has fixed chip problems with USB 2.0 (reported earlier).
